Nestled in the heart of Idaho, we are committed to farming methods which build, empower, and support our region's food system, from farm to fork.

Swift River Farm is a small, but mighty certified organic vegetable and seed farm, run by Jeremy Shreve and Jessica McAleese. Each season, we work hard to create dynamic and enduring partnerships between our farm and our community, striving for ecological, economical, and socially just ways to grow and eat our food.

We believe that change happens when a person connects their passion and talents with the needs of the community and when all is said and done, we find ourselves growing more than just good food.

Growing Solidarity and Equity:

We believe everyone deserves the right to healthy, delicious produce — period. To expand access, we offer sliding scale pricing, flexible payment plans, opportunities to get your hands dirty, and pay-it-forward veggies, garden bedding plants, and gardening knowledge. Together, we can try to create more equity, sustainability and diversity in our food system by supporting the farm based on all of our available resources.

We are still exploring how this works within our community and farm economy, our production schedule and our commitment to share the abundance. Growing food is certainly a social endeavor and we need your help and participation. If you would like to be involved or if you have insight to share, please reach out via email.

Also— please take a moment and listen to Robin Wall Kimmerer’s “Serviceberry: An economy of abundance” to learn more about growing an economy of sharing, gifts and gratitude.

While our practices have always been organic, we decided to become officially certified in 2019. After so many years of farming organically, we might as well be able to put a sticker on it:)

You can find our produce at the following locations throughout the season:

  • Lemhi County Farmer's Market We will not be attending the 2023 Farmers Market every Saturday this year. We will be posting on social media for any/all updates regarding our summer Market Schedule.

  • Swift River CSA program:  Sign up in advance for your share of the spring, summer and fall harvest. Check our our CSA page for more info.

  • Oddfellow's Bakery:  Our favorite local bakery!  Whenever possible, our friends at Oddfellow's are sourcing local ingredients to feature in their many wonderful soups, sandwiches, and other crazy delicious fare throughout the year. They have supported us from the ground up and it is through these types of partnerships that small family farms and rural communities can still thrive in the heart of Idaho.

  • Mountain Harvest Community Grocery Store:  A fabulous main street market, these folks go out of their way to support local food. You can find our seasonal produce on their shelves from May-winter! We are so grateful for their commitment to our farm and our community.

  • Floating the river?  Check out our River Rats page to explore how easy it is to bring our veggies with you down the river this summer.  We have custom order options, River Runner Share options and work with commercial outfitters, too.

Need some veggies?  No problem!
