Farm CSA Schedule 2023
Hello CSA Members!
We are incredibly excited to be offering our veggies again this season through our CSA program!
Read below for specific information on your pick-up sites and distribution days.
Salmon CSA Shares (for those picking up in Salmon)
Please mark your calendars (seriously--and set an alarm, because it is easy to forget until you get into a weekly groove). We will send a weekly email reminder, but it is up to you to be there and pick up your share each week.
Salmon folks, your shares will begin on Thursday, May 25th from 4-6pm
Pick up @ Mountain Harvest Grocery Store in Salmon
Every Thursday you can expect the same general routine:
Every Thursday, head inside Mountain Harvest Community Market and go towards the back of the store. If this works for you, great! Please be at the Market anytime between 4pm-6pm starting May 25th. If this doesn't work for you, please let us know ASAP and we are happy to work with you for another day/time.
The first week, you will get a bag filled with veggies. If this bag is a cloth/reusable bag, it is your responsibility to bring back this bag, clean and empty (and ideally the same bag!) the following week. You will then swap it out with another one, filled with veggies. Easy breezy. In some cases, we use plastic grocery sacks (when not enough people bring back their bags). You can bring those back, too—- or just keep them.
If something comes up and you are unable to pick-up your share (and unable to send a friend to do it for you), then please call/text us to make alternative arrangements or cancel your share for the week.
Any questions? Please don't hesitate to give a call or email if you have any questions, concerns or excitement to share. We are looking forward to seeing you all!
Upriver CSA Shares (Challis, East Fork and Stanley)
Please mark your calendars (seriously--and set an alarm, because it is easy to forget until you get into a weekly groove). We will send a weekly email reminder, but it is up to you to be there and pick up your share each week.
Upriver folks, your shares will begin on Tuesday, May 23rd
Every Tuesday you can expect the same general routine:

Challis drop-off will be at 1:00pm @ the US Forest Service center, on Hwy 93, in the overflow parking lot next to the main parking area. Please be there on time, as we will only be staying until 1:30, then we must continue to drive up to Stanley!
East Fork/Clayton drop-off will be at approximately 1:50 pm at the East Fork campground on Hwy 75 and the junction of East Fork Rd. Please be there at 1:45pm so we can swing in, drop it off, and hit the road.
Stanley drop-off will be at 3pm @ Stanley Town Square (by the Stanley Community Library). Please be there on time, as we will be heading back home to Salmon at 3:30pm.
Any questions? Please don't hesitate to give a call or email if you have any questions, concerns or excitement to share. We are looking forward to meeting you all!
U-Pick CSA Shares
After attending a U-Pick Farm Orientation, you will be on your way to picking your own veggies!
Each week, we will post an updated “What’s Available for Harvest” at the U-pick Farm Station here at Swift River. You will make that your first stop each week. Check the list, check the map, grab your harvest tools and head out. If you have any questions about the process or what/how/when/where—- just ask!
We will be working with you individually to set up your orientation.
Stock Your Cellar CSA Shares
This is a one-time distribution of veggies, just in time for storage into the fall and winter. Typically it is during the first or second week of October. We will coordinate with you via email and phone as we get closer to that day. In the meantime, you can start thinking about a good storage space for about 125-150 lbs of veggies, most of which like a cool, dark place with plenty of air ventilation. The space shouldn’t freeze. Winter Squash like it a little warmer (around 45-50 degrees F) and potatoes like it around 43 degrees. Onions/Garlic like it pretty darn cool (40 degrees) and beets/carrots can be stored in dry peat moss in very very cool/cold temps (like in the 30’s). Or washed and kept in your fridge in a plastic bag. We will work with you to figure out the best storage for everything when we get a bit closer to the Fall.
